  1. I attended the Relay for Life event with high expectations. In previous years, I had not been able to attend so this was my first year and I was excited. The event was exactly what I thought it would be. I enjoyed the games, music, friends, and food all of which was made better by the fact that we were supporting a great cause. The Relay for Life event fostered a great sense of community and I think everyone there was ready to raise money for cancer and to have a good time while doing it! Needless to say, all of my expectations were fulfilled and I had so much fun.

  2. I really enjoyed Relay for Life! Although I wasn't on a team, I still walked and it was really neat looking at all of the luminarias. I also enjoyed talking and hanging out with my friends. One of my favorite parts of Relay for Life every year is listening to everyone perform. It's always exciting to see your friends and other people that you know sing or play an instrument on stage. I also loved everyone's goofy costumes. Being outdoors was also really nice because the weather was absolutely perfect! I really like this event because it's fun, it's for a good cause, and you are always surrounded by happy people who are having a great time. What a perfect way to support a good cause!

  3. Relay for Life was such a positive and uplifting experience. I was on the team All Night for the Fight which had a bunch of my friends and students from all different grades. I thought it was really neat to see the community join together for an event like this. The luminaria lighting and walk around the track was such an inspiring and special moment. My father has overcome cancer and my grandmother is currently fighting this disease, so this walk was especially moving for me. Relay for Life is such a great celebration and really spreads awareness for the need to find a cure for cancer. Seeing how so many people are affected by all types of cancer in so many ways really made an impact on me this year. Relay for Life is one of my favorite events Coppell partakes in and I hope it continues to be a great success like this year's.

  4. This year was my first year to be a part of Relay for Life, and I can honestly say this was one of the most worthwhile experiences I've participated in thus far. Last year, my uncle was diagnosed with prostate cancer and is still fighting this disease. Relay for Life hit home for me because I know many people besides my uncle that have passed away because of cancer, are fighting against it, and a few that are now survivors. It was so inspiring to see such a large community come together to support such an incredible cause and raise money to find a cure. The luminaria ceremony was very moving to say the least since there were people that I was remembering aside from those on the luminarias. The fun events made it motivational for teams to have someone walking at all times, and the friendly community made it a positive experience for everyone. I was so excited and honored to be a part of Relay for Life and thought it to be such an incredible and beneficial event for everyone. To be able to celebrate the lives of those who have survived, encourage the ones who are fighting now, and remember those who were lost was so special and provided everyone with an amazing and unforgettable night. I plan on participating in Relay for Life for as many years as I can and hope its success will continue to grow.

  5. This year was my second year to participate in Relay. I participate in it because my grandmother is a breast cancer survivor and I do it for her. Relay was set up well this year and I had a lot of fun with the team. Hopefully I will be able to do it next year!

  6. This was my third year to be in Relay for Life. It is such an awesome experience and I'm very blessed to be able to participate in it. One of my very good friend's just found out that his mother has lung cancer, and being able to do this walk with him and for him. It's a celebration of life, and it is so awesome to see the money and awareness that we have raised for this amazing cause.

  7. I was very happy to be able to participate in my first year of Relay for Life this year. It was definitely an experience (with the wind, weather, and allergies)! I thought it was really cool at the beginning how they recognized all the cancer survivors (there were a surprisingly large amount in our area), because I knew several of them myself. The different walks were creative and a lot of fun - my favorite being the hula-hoop one: I'm sure it was very amusing for others to watch me hula-hoop while walking, because that is not easy! I was also amazed at how many people were there apart from the direct cancer survivors. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the event and wish I could have stayed longer.

P.S. My first veggie burger was also very delicious!!! :)

  8. This was my first year participating in Relay for life, and it was a great experience. I enjoyed walking, and participating in the activities everybody had set up. I was amazed to see that there was a lot of people there. The part that got to me the most was when we had the silent lap, and they announced "if you have lost someone to cancer please take your lap now" because my grandma past away with cancer. It was very emotional but it was because of her that I decided to be a part of this great event that supports a good cause. I really liked it, so hopefully I will be part of it next year.

  9. I have done relay for life walk/runs before but have never participated in a night out. It was such an inspiring event. The amount of energy and effort that everyone put into making the event so memorable. I really enjoyed the fun little events they had throughout the night to keep everyone awake and involved. I did this event along with my brother and sister, they enjoyed the event with all of their friends for just a great cause. I really loved doing the jumba dance with everyone hyped up along with my sister. We spent a lot of time together so me and my sister really bonded, but also felt good to be involved in such an amazing event. I was there the whole night and got to see the different phases of the event. I already decided that I would really love to participate in this event next year as well. They made something in life that is really a scary thing in life, fun and enjoyable while respecting and honoring the survivors. While remembering the lost.

  10. This was my first time participating in Relay For Life, and I would do it again in a heart beat. The enthusiasm for doing something that no single person could achieve alone was a great thing to witness first hand. I do wish however that it was more of a serious issue in the wee hours in the morning. It seems as if despite the strict people wearing yellow and driving golf carts the crazies still made their way in. I'm all for having a good time but respect for the reason everyone is there seemed to diminish as the night grew longer. Although I wish I could've pulled the all nighter I had to leave around 2:45,perhaps I'll make it all night next year.

  11. I have never been to a Relay For Life, but I am so glad I went this year. It was just an amazing and unique experience. There were just so many people there that were affected by cancer one way or another. There was always something going on everywhere at anytime. Everyone was just full of energy and excitement. There were so many activities to raise even more money, from painting nails to selling ice cream. Unfortunately I was not allowed to stay out through the night, but it was one of the best experiences of my life. Meeting new and old friends and seeing everyone in one area share the same passion at that moment in time.

  12. This was my fourth year to participate in Relay For Life. Unlike the last three years, this year was especially important for me because I recently lost my Grandmother to breast cancer. I enjoyed coming together with friends and family to recognize such a widespread issue. I loved walking around the track and looking at each luminarie, and how they each had their own cancer survivor or loved one on it. My favorite part of the night is when they had all the cancer survivors all walk a lap together. This really opened up my eyes that even though cancer is so dangerous, it is not impossible to overcome. The whole night was filled with energy and overwhelming encouragment, and there was always something to keep you busy. I will deffinitely be attending Relay For Life for the years to come!

  13. This is the first time I have everbeen involved with relay fr life. A bunch of my friends over the years have done it and have had tons of fun, but I didn't really know what it was about. I was extremly happy to see the community present at the event. The teams that would go all out and truley have a passion for the cause. I loved knowing that people cated so much and that there were survivors there. That visual of them walking against what they went through and continuing to fight for those going through what they went through is insperational. I only hope to be more involved over the years and am able to dedicate more of myself just as much as the survivors who were still there at 3 am.

  14. This is my second year at Relay for Life and i enjoyed this year more than last just because it's my senior year. Relay gets better and better every year and I enjoyed coming back. My mother had breast cancer awhile back so be apart of this event means something to me. Anyone little contribution now means a great amount in the long run. Relay keeps the energy live all throughout the entire night and i just think this is a wonderful event to be apart of for a great cause.

  15. This was my fourth time to participate in Relay for Life. I walk for a coach at my gym that has survived breast cancer two times. She is truly an inspiring person and every year we honor her by supporting her in Relay for Life. It was a bunch of fun this year; I walked for three hours in her honor. It amazes me how many people come and support the cause. Even just $1 can help change a life in the long run, and having everyone show up and contribute to the cause is outstanding. I am so glad that I have been able to be apart of this amazing event and I hope to continue when I go to college.
